Thursday 21 July 2011
Who doesn’t love that skinny, almost malnourished boy with eyeglasses and messy hair? Yes, I’m talking about the “boy who lived”, Harry Potter. This series from J.K. Rowling is a total hit in the whole world and have undoubtedly captured every one’s heart, regardless of age. It has created a totally different realm of magic around us. But now that it has all ended, I’m pretty sure its magic will still live forever. You can relive it, too by organizing a Harry Potter themed party or wedding!

Here are some fitting designs of party favors, wedding favors and accessories that you can use for the Harry Potter themed party or a magical wedding celebration.

1. Castle – The Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry is where young wizards attend to learn magic. Thus, you can design your stationery with a magical castle or you can find some castle party favors for your guests.

2. Broomsticks – We are all familiar with witches on broomsticks. Well, it does exist on the wizarding world. Instead of cars, witches and wizards ride on a broomstick to travel “manually”. Though they can also have other means to travel like using a portkey. If you can find miniature broomsticks, they will ideal as wedding favors or giveaways to your guests. If not, you can find some real ones and make them a hanging decoration in your venue.

3. Train – The students of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry boards a train called Hogwarts Express whenever they go to the school at the opening of classes each year. You can give some train party or wedding favors to your guests. They are typically available in party shops.

4. Owl – Owls, in wizarding world, serve as messengers. Most wizards own an owl that sends their message to the recipient. Harry had the Snow Owl named Hedwig. Unfortunately, Hedwig died in the last installment of the series, The Deathly Hollows. Mini white owl figurines can be given as party favors and elegant wedding favors. The bigger ones can also be used as decorations by making them a table centerpiece.

5. Frog –The wizarding world also has chocolate frogs that come with collectible cards. So why not treat your party guests with frog-shaped edible chocolates or cookies and include some harry potter character cards with a thank-you message on it?

6. Sorting Hat – Each first year student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry are sorted by the Sorting Hat to determine which house they belong to. Unless you are having a costume party, the sorting hat can be a good table centerpiece or decoration, too.
